MY PROJECT

CoffeeHouse

CoffeeHouse is an international coffee store chain with locations in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Cleveland, London, Nantes, Reykjavik, and more. CoffeeHouse has launched its very own mobile app where it aims to serve quality coffee with local flair. The Coffee House caters to customers such as office workers, students and young professionals who don't have time to wait in a long queue and need ready-to-drink coffee quickly. Their specialty drinks are made to order at their counter For each of the cities they currently operate in, they have crafted an exclusive coffee-based beverage that can only be ordered in its city.

Takeaways

Problem Duration: 3 Months (JAN 2022 to MAR 2022)
The Problem

People such as office workers, students and young professionals who don't have time to wait in a long queue and need ready-to-drink coffee quickly. They were not able to place order in large quantity easily.

The Goal

Design an app for CoffeeHouse that allows users to conveniently place orders for themselves or in large quantities for groups, and even they can schedule pickups or can make them available for delivery.

My Role

My main role has been as a UX Designer where I was responsible for the conception, design, and delivery of a mobile application for CoffeeHouse.

Responsibility
  • Research

  • Paper & Digital Wireframes

  • Low Fidelity & High Fidelity Prototyping

  • Usability Studies

  • Iterating on Design screens

Summary

To understand user requirements and painpoints, I conducted user interviews as well as empathy maps. My primary audience comprises Working Adults and university students who do not have time to wait in long lines for drinks. Users are aware of well-known CoffeeHouse outlets in their cities, but user research also revealed that they need a pre-order process to manage multiple orders easily.

Reverberation:

Upon finishing the high-fidelity prototype, I shared the design with the users who were very excited about the new features and were looking forward to using the application in the coming future.

What I Learned:

For Designing an Application interface or product the most important factor is User. I have learned how to analyze the user problems and how to get into their shows and empathize to learn their requirements, diligently following each step of the user centric design process and align with user need and expectations and come up with solution that is feasible, easy to understand and use to the user.
